Formal uniform is the dress code at GIET University. Cloth material is provided during admission and the student is required to make a uniform out of it according to his/her fit. Uniforms are a must because the university focuses a lot on discipline and professionalism on the job which is why students are trained to look professional from the beginning itself. Every branch has its different color palettes in uniform, for-ex, B.Tech Computer Science has a light blue formal shirt with navy blue pants and formal black shoes as its dress code. Tuck, tie, ID card, polished shoes, good/decent haircut are primarily checked by the class teacher every week.

College life at GIET University is very enjoyable, entertaining, and educating as well. Teachers, Coaches, and Medical staff are constantly at work to provide their best services to the students. Friendly and extremely cooperating seniors are also a huge help. The sports facilities are also very nice. Coaches and seniors form a team and then compete at different levels such as intercollege, interstate, zonal, etc. Seniors provide information regarding the placements and help their juniors land a good campus placement. Overall, life at GIET University is the best that can be for a student who desires good study as well as good sports facilities.

- GIET University, Gunupur, provides hostels both inside and outside the campus for both males and females. - Girls hostels are safeguarded by warden and security at the main GATE and girls who return to the hostel after 7 pm need an explanation letter signed by the HOD to gain entry inside the hostel. - Without the application, they will have to explain themselves to the registrar and face disciplinary consequences as well. - GIET provides bus facilities that are constant (to the ones staying outside the campus) during work hours. - The surroundings of the PGs and Hostels in the city are extremely friendly and constantly busy and also provided with daily necessities shops around them.
