Mahatma Gandhi University Kerala, also known as MGU Kerala or MG University is a state-level university that is recognised by the UGC and is accredited with an 'A' Grade by the NAAC. The university was established in 1983. MGU has been given a rank band 501-600 by Times Higher Education 2024. As per the NIRF 2023, MGU is awaded with 31st rank among the top universities in India. According to Mahatma Gandhi University NIRF report 2023, the median package offered during MG University UG 5-year and PG 2-year placements 2022 stood at INR 1.8 LPA and INR 5 LPA, respectively. Calicut University was established in 1968 and is governed by the Calicut University Act 1975. Through 406 affiliated colleges and various departments, the university offers UG, PG, and various other courses to students across Engineering, Management, and various other streams. The university is accredited with A+ Grade by NAAC and approved by UGC. University of Calicut is ranked 70th by NIRF 2023 in the University category. According to the Calicut University NIRF report 2023, the median package offered to UG (3-year) and PG (1-year) students was INR 2.64 LPA and INR 3.96 LPA during placements 2022.

The basic eligibility criteria that students must fulfil to avail Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students are given below:The applicant must be above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class 12 or equivalent.The applicant must be pursuing regular degree courses and not correspondence or distance mode or pursuing Diploma courses.The applicant must be pursuing courses at colleges/institutions recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education and the respective Regulatory Bodies concerned.The applicant must not be availing the benefit of any other scholarship schemes including State-run scholarship schemes/ fee waivers & reimbursement schemes.The gross parental/family income of the applicant should not exceed ?4,50,000 per annum.For renewal of scholarship in each year of study, besides getting at least 50% marks in the Annual Examination, maintenance of adequate attendance of at least 75%, will also be the criteria.
