At Kurukshetra University, admission categories are typically categorized as Category I and Category II. Category I refers to admissions where merit is determined through entrance exams or qualifying exams conducted by the university or governing bodies. On the other hand, Category II often involves admissions through lateral entry schemes, direct admission under special quotas, or vacant seat adjustments based on certain criteria like previous academic records.

Whether or not admission will be possible in NIT Kurukshetra with 92 percentile will depend on a number of factors, including the programme you would be applying to, category, opening and closing ranks of the institute during JoSAA counseling. Percentiles required will be high for popular courses like Computer Science or Electronics, say 95+ for the General category. The cutoffs may be less for other branches. Further, cutoffs change every year with seat availability and competition.

The institute offers direct admission to BTech courses only to the DASA process, that too with fulfilling certain eligibility criteria. However, JEE Main is what gives admissions to the BTech programmes at NIT Kurukshetra. Hence, Indian students can not see themselves in the NIT Kurukshetra BTech programme without JEE Main scores.
