No, you cannot join KTU directly. KTU admissions are based on marks obtained in the entrance exam conducted by the Commission for Entrance Examinations, Government of Kerala. CUSAT Kochi is better than KTU. Being older, it is more recognized.  It is more reputed internationally. CUSAT brand name can help you a lot while applying for higher studies overseas. Cochin University of Science and Technology courses are well-structured. The syllabus followed is tougher compared to KTU. So, a degree from CUSAT is more valued. KTU is a technological university. It offers courses in this domain only. While CUSAT offers courses from various disciplines such as Arts, Law, etc. In terms of placement, CUSAT is better.
