The eligibility depends on the type of course that you wish to pursue. The details of some courses are stated below:
Diploma: Class 10th pass from a recognised board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelors Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-Graduation degree: Bachelors degree from a recognised university with at least 45% marks.
Graduate & PG programs may also require you to appear in entrance exams such as NCHMCT, AIMA UGAT, E-CHAT, etc.

If your rank is at least 30000 or below, then you would get the SRM university NCR campus for sure.So, you may try to score at least 170 out of 315 in the SRMJEEE examination.
Try your level best in the exam.

Yes, with this rank of 48,000, you can get a seat for mechanical engineering at SRM university (NCR campus). You can also get all the other top courses at the NCR campus with this rank. So, try it in the counselling.

With your rank, getting into an NLU seems tough, but never lose hope. Keep a track of vacancies, which would come up after the phases of counselling is over.
SRM, according to me is preferable, because of its quality infrastructure, faculty and placements.

Please do not drop, that's a suggestion. Join any educational programme and prepare simultaneously. If you are really patient, then wait for the vacancies as offered by NLUs, you might easily get through one of the bottom NLUs.
