Yes, you can get admission in CSE in Thapar University. The minimum eligibility criteria is candidate need to have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject or Minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST candidates) marks in a Diploma recognised by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3-year duration. English medium would be best from the perspective of the exam of M.Sc but many students also choose Hindi also but in future point of view I would suggest English medium would be the best.

You can get the syllabus for the exam from TU website. Most of the questions are related to those topics only. You can prepare your core subjects from any book having MCQs. My friend prepared from S. Hand publisher book and there were many questions in the exam from that. You can prepare from any other book also which is for Lateral entry exam. PCM questions were not tough at all, so just prepare your core subjects well.
