In my opinion, you should drop a year to get a deep knowledge of your subject, so that you can easily get a top NIT or IIT. Also, after that, you need not worry about your college if you don't get a top NIT because you would have a satisfaction that you know.

Yes, you can surely get admission in Punjabi University for B.Sc in CSM. Give common university entrance exam. Try for M.Sc Integrated Statistics. It has a good scope.

You should apply for LM Thapar School of Management they have a strong alumni network working in some of the top industry players.
