It is one of the most sought after engineering colleges in Kerala.Now the college is managed by Centre for Professional and Advanced Studies (CPAS), a society established by Government of Kerala; under the chairmanship of Hon'ble Minister for Education.All the courses conducted by the college have been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. This institute started functioning on 1996 in Thodupuzha and was later moved to its own campus at Muttom in May 2002.Facilities:Central Library: UCE library has good collection of books in its repository, including national and international journals and magazines.Hostel: College has boys hostel which can accommodate 43 students and also mess facility available within hostel. Laboratories: All departments have laboratories with modern facilities, equipments and systems as per AICTE regulations.Computing and Internet Facilities:  college has5 computer laboratories.
