Yes, you could get into IIT Patna after Class 12 through clearing JEE Advanced. The eligibility criterion is at least 75% marks-65% for SC/ST or in the top 20 percentile of your board. Admission is purely rank-based in JEE Advanced.

The candidate needs to be eligible for the selected programme which they are applying for (B.Tech, M.Tech, or Ph.D.). In B.Tech, candidates have to qualify through JEE Main and then advance, followed by participation in the counseling round held by JoSAA. In M.Tech, candidates need to appear for GATE examination and then register themselves at COAP and then apply on the IIT Patna portal. Ph.D. candidates require a relevant degree and have to apply online, later followed by interviews or tests. All documents should be submitted according to the guidelines provided on the IIT Patna website.

No, direct admission is not available for undergraduate studies at IIT Patna. It's purely on the basis of candidates' performances in JEE Advanced. For postgraduate, it may be either on the basis of their GATE scores or by entrance examinations conducted by respective courses.

The marks needed to get an admission in IIT Patna through JEE Advanced change each year according to the level of difficulty with the number of applicants appearing for the exam. Competition-wise, a rank that falls within the top 10,000 is considered highly competitive for the popular branches; therefore, it is more important to try and score very high.

JEE Main and Advanced is among the most rigorous engineering examinations in the country, one which evaluates a student's knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a knack for solving problems to arrive at sound critical thinking. It's really challenging, but consistency with preparation and very good strategies would help counter all those challenges an examination would offer. And though with dedication and proper approach, it could be achievable.

The M.Tech admission dates for 2025 at IIT Patna is out now since the GATE 2025 exam dates are out. Candidates must refer to the GATE dates for IIT Patna M.Tech 2025 admission. IIT Roorkee has REVISED the GATE 2025 application form dates. As per the revised schedule, GATE 2025 registrations had started on 28 August, 2024. The last date for GATE 2025 registration have been extended to October 3, 2024 (without late fees). Earlier, candidates had to submit the application form by 26 September 2024, with regular fees.
