According to the NIRF Report 2023, NIT Agartala has been ranked 91 for the Engineering category whereas NIT Patna has been ranked 56. Similarly, as per the latest statistics of placement data, the average package offered during the NIT Agartala placement 2022 is INR 7 LPA whereas during the NIT Patna placement 2022, the average package offered was INR 14 LPA.

IIT Patna is a very prestigious engineering institute in the country. It has been acknowledged as a Nationally Significant Institute. Numerous national and international rating organisations have assigned IIT Patna a ranking. IIT Patna is placed in the Asian University and Southern Asian University categories at 401–450 and 106, respectively, in the QS World University Rankings 2023.
