NIT Patna reserve certain seats from the total seat count for reserved category candidates. The admission eligibility criteria is governed by the MHRD rules (based on grade score). Moreover, the institute has seat reservations for SC/ST/PH candidates. There are 15% seat reservations for SC, 7.5% for ST, and 3% for PH category candidates. The seat allotment process shall be carried out as per the reservation policy.

NIT Patna admit candidates to the BSc-MSc integrated courses based on merit in the JEE Main exam. Aspirants who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the entrance exam through NTA official website. The institute may release its separate application form as well for the course admission.
