There are a total of 120 seats in BArch course of Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Architecture Akurdi. Out of the total, 96 seats are filled through CAP and 24 under the Management Quota. Candidates are offered seat in BArch based on their JEE Paper-II, NATA or MHT CET scores. Aspirants need to participate in CAP Counselling for seat allotment.

Candidates need to complete a minimum of Class 12 to apply for UG courses at DY Patil College of Architecture. The college offers BArch at the UG level. The minimum aggregate to apply for BArch is 45%. Hence, aspirants with 60% in Class 12 can apply for admission provided they also fulfil the selection requirements. There is a 5% relaxation in the aggregate for  backward Class categories, Economically Weaker Section and Persons with Disability category candidates.

DY Patil College of Architecture admissions are entrance-based. The college considers NATA, JEE Paper-II or MHT CET scores for admission to BArch programme. Aspirants seeking admission in M.Arch must have a valid MAH M.Arch CET score. Candidates are not offered seat in the college without entrance-exam scores. Aspirants are further required to register for CAP rounds for seat allotement.

The basic eligibility criteria to get admission in UG/PG courses is bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate and the accepted entrance exams are SNAP, MAH CET, and others. Students must prepare well for the SNAP exams in advance. Students must practice as many mock tests as possible.

The college considers MAH M.Arch CET scores for admission to M.Arch programme. Selected candidates are further offered seat through Centralised Admission Process or CAP. The number of CAP rounds depends on the availability of seats.
