The basic eligibility required to apply for the M.Tech course at Desh Bhagat University is passing graduation with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Hence, one can apply for the M.Tech course at the university if they have scored 60% in their graduation. However, the selection for the course is done on the basis of merit secured by the candidates in the entrance test conducted by the university.

Although Desh Bhagat University accepts admissions for its BSc programme on entrance basis. However, the university also offers lateral entry to some of the BSc courses such as BSc in Fashion Technology. Those seeking admission in the BSc programme offered at Desh Bhagat University, must have cleared Class 12 or its equivalent in Science subjects from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 45%. The university conducts its own entrance exam called DSBET Entrance Test for admissions to its programmes including BSc course.
