It's very nice to hear from you that you are interested in doing your PG in food technology. If it's MTech then it will not be allowed to be offered by distance education since UGC has disallowed distance education mode for all professional courses. However, if it's MSc then you can think of it.

Periyar University offers both B.Sc and M.Sc in microbiology, but the university does not offer distance education so they established Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE) in the year 2001-2002, you can apply for distance education in PRIDE.
