NEHU Shillong has collaborated with various industries, companies, institutions, and organisations. North-Eastern Hill University has signed MoUs with various companies, institutions, and organisations. Some of the North Eastern Hill University collaborations are the University of Chulalongkorn, Thailand, K. L. Bajoria College, Gujarat University, and others. In the past, it has been observed that collaborations have helped colleges and universities to grow. The university by way of collaborations, also arranges guest lectures and faculty exchange courses.

NEHU Shillong has a big campus and provides various facilities to students. North Eastern Hill University also provides a hostel facility for various national and international students with 24 rooms and with a proper seat intake capacity. NEHU University has a computer lab, chemistry lab, electrical lab, electronics lab, and others. Students must visit the campus themselves and see what all facilities are being offered by the university. The facilities provided by the university are great and benefit various Indian as well as international students.

NEHU Shillong, through 79 colleges affiliated with it, offers postgraduate, undergraduate, PhD, and various other courses to students. Some of the colleges affiliated with North Eastern Hill University are St. Edmund’s College, St. Anthony’s College, Lady Keane College, St. Mary’s College, St. Mary’s College of Teacher Education, Union Christian College, and several others. The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the MSc course is a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 55 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exam is CUET-PG. At the postgraduate level, NEHU Shillong offers two-year MA courses to students. MA is offered in various specialisations and one of the specialisation is Geography. The fee for M.A. is INR 3,360. The basic eligibility criteria to apply for the M.A. in Geography is Graduation with a minimum of 45 percent to 55 percent aggregate and the accepted entrance exam is CUET-PG. For various courses like BCA, BA, BSc, and others, CUET is accepted by the NEHU University Shillong. CUET (Common University Entrance Test) is an all-India level entrance examination which is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
