Normally, it is a cut above 80 marks to join the Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) for students in the JEE Main exam. But there might be variations due to other reasons, such as the number of candidates, in addition to their overall performance, so it changes every year. Aspirants can apply for lateral entry in Information Technology, CSE, ECE, etc. Aspirants who have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with other elective subjects with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC/ ST) can apply for BTech (LE).

Yes, UIT under Himachal Pradesh University offers full-tuition fee waiver to six candidates (3 to students with annual income less than INR 2.5 Lacs per annum, 2 to meritorious girls and 1 to Physically Challenged) in each Engineering branch as per AICTE norms.
