Kuvempu University is a good university as the university is ranked 86 by NIRF 2022 under the University category. The university is accredited with A Grade by NAAC. Kuvempu University, through various constituent colleges and affiliated colleges, offers UG, PG, and PhD courses to students across Commerce, Education, Science and Technology, and various other streams.

Kuvempu University conducts entrance exam for MBA, MCA, BPEd and MPEd. Admissions for MCA and MBA courses are made through PGCET conducted by KEA, Bengaluru. However, a separate Entrance Test will be conducted by Kuvempu University to fill up unfilled seats. There shall be an entrance test for admission to M.P.Ed and B.P.Ed conducted by the University. The details of syllabi and pattern of entrance test are given in the respective Department Profile.

The admission season of Kuvempu University usually commences in June-July with the availability of university online prospectus, followed by the opening of registration window. For some of the courses, the university begins registration in April. Admission to most of the courses is based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Candidates have to appear for an entrance exam for admission to MBA, MCA, BPEd and MPEd.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For COMEDK Round 2 cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 37741 and closing rank was 60693 for the general category candidates under All India quota. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. Admission to Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning in JNNCE - Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering is based on the scores obtained in the COMEDK entrance exam. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.
