Candidates seeking for admission to M.Ed at Kashmir University must fulfil all the educational requirements of the university. As per the minimum eligibility criteria, candidates must pass graduation in B.Ed with minimum 55% aggregate (50% aggregate for reserved category) along with having minimum three years of teaching experience in a recognised Educational Institute are eligible to apply.Further, in case of experience at school level, the certificate should be signed by the concerned chief Education Officer. However, in case of college teachers, it should be signed by Dean College Development Council, University of Kashmir.

To get admission to M.Ed course at Kashmir University, candidates must fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. Candidates gradutaed with B.Ed and having a valid work experience are eligible to apply for M.Ed course at Kashmir University. The final admission to this course is offered based on candidates' performance in Kashmir University Entrance Test. All the M.Ed aspirants of Kashmir University must register for the exam on the university's official website and qualify it with a valid score.

The Central University of Kashmir (CUK) has different cutoff scores for different B.Sc. programs. The eligibility criteria for the B.Sc. programme require the candidate to have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.  For integrated B.Sc.-M.Sc., the minimum requirement is 10+2 in any stream with at least 50% marks or its equivalent on grading scale of respective Boards. For SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled (DA) candidates, the minimum requirement is 50% marks or equivalent grade.

The Central University of Kashmir is a well-regarded university in Kashmir, but it is difficult to say definitively whether it is the best in the region. According to, the university offers innovative courses and adheres to the reservation policy of the Central Government. On the basis of NIRF ranking, NIT is better. The rankings are 82 and 151 for NIT Srinagar and IUST respectively. The facilities provided by NIT Srinagar are better than IUST. Apart from the B.Tech and M.Tech courses, NIT Srinagar offers MSc, MBA and PhD programmes across various specialisations.Whereas IUST offers UG, PG, Diploma and PhD-level programs such as BTech, BSc, BA, BVoc, MTech, MSc, MA, MBA, MCA, etc.under its schools of Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences and Business Studies.
