The Department of Students Welfare (DSW) and Central University of Kashmir (CUK) conducts an examination for coaching of civil services exams. Four Deputy DSWs are employed by the department, and they represent the university four campuses. They are Drs. Asif Khan, Ishrat Bashir, Faizan Ashraf Mir, and Mohammad Lateef Khaliq. These deputy DSWs manage the planning of different DSW initiatives. The University different sports activities are overseen by the Dean of Students Welfare, and Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah, the Sports Coordinator, works under his direction to promote sports at the University.

The Central University of Kashmir offers more than 15 UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes under its nine schools. The university offers a variety of courses, including B.Teach, B.Sc + M.Sc, BA + L.L.B, B.Voc, MBA, M.Phil. + Ph.D., M.Sc, and M.Teach.Additional, the university also provides PG Diploma programmes.

The Central University of Kashmir has received 'B+' accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The University Grants Commission (UGC) has also approved the university.It belongs to the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) as well.

If a student misses the internal exams in the Central University of Kashmir, he/she is not eligible for External exams. They will have to fill the back paper and wait till next semester to give the exam. Try not to miss or failing the exam as no exception would be made.
