The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.

B.Tech in Information Technology course, applicants are required to have a minimum of 45% in 12th grade. Candidates must pass the entrance examination to be eligible for admission in undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The application forms gets distributed in the first week of January, and the entrance examination results are released in May. The latest cutoff information on B.Tech admissions at Kalasalingam University according to the rank scored is 95612, candidates securing an equivalent rank are eligible to get admission in the university.The cutoff marks although keeps changing every year based on the students which applied for the exam and the difficulty of the exam. The general cutoff however remains the same which is a minimum of 250 marks.
