An average Indian student can join the American University of Sharjah (AUS) if they meet the minimum admission requirements. AUS requires a minimum of 60% or more in the Senior Secondary School Certificate (12th Standard) or 60% or more in the best two years of the last three years. However, AUS also has a higher minimum percentage requirement of 80 to stand a good chance of admission. In addition to academic performance, applicants must submit an online application, English proficiency test scores (TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.5), and other required documents.

Yes, there are many students from other countries studying at the American University of Sharjah (AUS).  The university is known to have more than 5,000 students from over 94 countries, but the specific number of international students is not provided by them. Some of the countries with significant student representation include the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Australia, Pakistan, and China. Also, In 2017 and 2018, AUS topped the Times Higher Education (THE) list of universities with the highest percentage of international students.

The American University of Sharjah is ranked #364 in the QS World University Rankings 2024. It is also recognised as the #1 (tied) university in the UAE in the category of arts and humanities and third in the UAE in engineering and technology. In the Best Global Universities ranking, it is placed at #1381. AUS has also earned a Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) silver award for sustainability in higher education from the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE).

Abu Dhabi University's MBA programme requires applicants to have a Master's degree in a directly related discipline from an accredited university recognised by the UAE Ministry of Education with a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0-point scale. Additionally, according to the Abu Dhabi School of Management, admission to the MBA programme requires at least three years of work experience. Evidence of relevant work experience may also be required for admission to some postgraduate courses.
