The American University of Sharjah offers a variety of courses through its four academic units; College of Agricutlure, Arts & Design, College of Arts & Sciences, College of Engineering, and School of Businss Adminstration. All the programs offered at AUS are nationally and internationally accredited by relevant bodies. AUS is accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates to grant degree programs. Also, AUS has been accredited in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

The American University of Sharjah does not publish data on the acceptance rate. However as per unofficial sources including EduRank, AUS acceptance rate is between 70% - 80%. This indicates the university is moderately competitive and international students may not find it hard to get into AUS. All applicants including international students are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of AED 400 plus 5% VAT to apply at the American University of Sharjah. Transfer applicants are required to pay a non-refundable transcript evaluation fee of 400 AED plus 5% VAT. Your application will be not be considered for evaluation if application fee is not paid. International students can pay the application fee online through their credit or debit card.
