UPES will conduct GD/PI rounds for the shortlsited candidates. Students are shortlisted for the selection rounds based on the scores in entrance examination. Final admission to MBA programme will be offered on the basis of the entrance examination score and performance in GD/PI.

No, there is no category-specific reservation at UPES. However, there is a 15 per cent reservation for candidates belonging to Uttarakhand. They have to produce 'Sthai Niwas Praman Patra' or Permanent Residence Certificate for Uttarakhand during the counselling process.  

Apart from UPESMET, the institute accepts CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/NMAT/GMAT score for admission to its MBA programmes. Candidates having valid score in any of the entrance examination score will be exempted from UPESMET exam. Such candidates will be shortlisted for the GD/PI rpounds through the national level entrance examination scores.
