No, there is no provision for additional benfits to the students who are residents of Varanasi. However, the university may admit students under Employee Quota. Wherein, son/daughter of BHU employees get benefits under the quota. There are 10% of seats of total admission. Additionally, the OBC, ST, and SC quota makes it up to 25%. Hence, there are 48% of seats for the general category candidates. The information mentioned here is taken from the web and hence, is indicative.

No, you may not be allowed to apply for another course in the next year. As per the guidelines, a candidate may not be allowed to pursue two degree programmes at the same time. However, applications can be accepted for admission to Banaras Hindu University Diploma or certificate courses. If you want to discontinue one course for another, then you will have to cancel admission in the running course before applying for another course.

Yes, for PG courses such as MBA and MCA, the institute accepts national-level entrance exams apart from its own exam. For MBA, students can qualify CUET/ CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT, all of these exams are conducted at the national-level for the selection of candidates in Management courses. Whereas for admission to MCA, students can get admission through a valid score of CUET-PG. The institute conducts SMSOET for admission to UG and PG courses.

Yes, SMS Varanasi offered courses such as BCA, BCom, BBA, BA and MCom in affiliation with Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi (MGKVP). While courses such as MBA and MCA are offered in affiliation with Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam University, Lucknow.

SMS Varanasi offers total eight UG and PG courses from the streams of Commerce, Management, Computer Applications and Humanities. These courses are BCom, BCom (Hons), BCA, BBA, MBA, MCom, MCA and BA (Hons) Mass Communication.

Yes, SMS Varanasi conducts an institute-level entrance exam, i.e., SMS Online Entrance Test (SMS OET). This exam is conducted for all UG and PG courses. It is necessary for aspirants to qualify for this exam in order to get admission to the course of their choice.

In order to get admission to SMS Varanasi, students need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria in the first place. As per the next step, students either need to register themselves for the SMSOET exam on SMS College's official website and appear for the entrance exam or qualify for any other respective entrance exam. For MBA, the institute accepts CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT score.Once the result gets declared students need to fill an online application form on the institute's official website with appropriate details along with submitting relevant documents and a scorecard of their result and paying an adequate amount of application fee.
