There is no lateral entry admissions at VIT University (Vellore). The admissions into undergraduate programmes are based on the ranks secured in VITEEE exams conducted every year in the month of April.

Yes, VIT, Mumbai has a lateral entry admission. The eligibility conditions are:
(I) The Candidate should be an Indian National
(ii) Passed Diploma Course in Engineering and Technology with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and Persons with Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in appropriate branch of Engineering and Technology from an All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved Institution or its equivalent. Hello Divyanshu,
At BITS Pilani, you have provision to choose electives means that if you have got chemical or civil but you wanted mechanical then you can choose mechanical engineering as one of the electives. Similarly, you can choose 3-5 electives in engineering branches.
But in VIT, Vellore, there is no such provision. So, if you are interest in CSE alone, then go for VIT, Vellore CSE.

The admissions are based on the scores in NATA exam and JEE main paper 2 (any one). But, you need to have the minimum marks in board exams also.
Candidates who have studied in regular, full time and formal education alone are eligible to apply.
(I) Candidates must possess 60% marks in overall aggregate with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or equivalent.
(II) Candidates must possess 50% marks in overall aggregate with Mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or equivalent.
a. For SC/ST candidates
b. For Candidates hailing from Jammu & Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Ma
