Jadavpur University is a public state university situated in Kolkata, India. This university offers courses like arts, science, engineering and technology. This university has two campuses, one in Jadavpur which is the old campus and the other is in Salt Lake which is the new campus. Departments:-

For computer science and IT students, companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, PWC, Salesforce, SAP Labs and many more visit and offer an average package of 12 LPA. For mechanical engineering, companies like TCS, PWC, Siemens, Wipro, Ashok Leyland visit the campus. For electrical engineering, companies like PWC, Wipro, General Electric (GE) and CESC come here. In short, this is a great university where any student can get placement in a good company.

The prime objective of the Placement Assistance Cell of the Integrated Science Education and Research Centre (ISERC) of Viva-Bharati is to set up a new bond between Science and the corporate world. The Students of Viva-Bharati are highly trained and motivated and completely fit to cater to the R&D needs of both the government and the private sector. Our students will not only fit into pre-defined job positions/ academia but they will also strive for excellence in novel career paths. Hence the Student Placement Cell is an Interface between the needs of the recruiting organizations and the talents of our students.
The college provides placement to only 50% of the students. So, make sure that you are good enough to compete in the placement session and get a job for you before completing the course.

Placements in architecture, though they exist still are pretty rare. So, mostly 'No'.
You need to apply directly to the firms that you want to work with and hope that you get an interview call and if everything goes well, you'll be able to grab the desired job.
Nowadays, most universities are having some form of placements, they are still in their infancy and hardly two or three companies will come looking for candidates. In most cases, these companies will be project management companies such as L&T or large scale developers such as Sobha builders.
As a fresher, it may not always be a good idea to join such large-scale offices because you might miss out on learning the basics of architecture and construction.
In any case, make sure you are understanding the kind of job profile these companies offer before signing up for any kind of campus placement.
