Jadavpur University located in Kolkata, India, does not have a "management quota" for admissions. Jadavpur University follows a merit-based admission process. Admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate courses are based on the scores obtained in the relevant entrance examination conducted by the university or other recognised bodies, as well as academic performance in qualifying examinations. If you are getting NIT then never think of Jadavpur University. The QS World University Rankings ranked NIT Trichy 228 in Asia in the 2018 ranking. NIT Trichy was ranked 11 among engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2017 and 34 overall. So I prefer you NIT Trichy.

Personally I feel that people are wasting their time comparing the two institutes. Both are some of the best institutes in india right now and both are giving the top iits a run for their money. I am not saying that getting into ju or bits is easy (to get into bits pilani CSE you need to get 380+ marks out of 450 which is really tough. And to get into ju CSE you have to get a position in the top 100 amongst almost 1.5 Lacs candidates. ). And many students in these colleges have a decent rank in JEE adv and can get into an IIT, but they consider their stream over a just a brand.
