In general, Tier 1 institutions are those which happen to be ranked at the top and highly prestigious ones, such as IIMs, XLRI, and ISB, endowed with global reputation and known for their very competitive selection processes. Although BIBS can be said to have quite good education and placements, especially in Kolkata, it is not nationally or internationally famous like Tier 1 institutions. Yet, it is a good option in management studies, particularly in the mindset of students who seek quality education within eastern India.
