Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) provides four year B.Tech degree course in Civil Engineering with an intake capacity upto 60 students for each section. This means that: Admission is given to 60 students per year in the B.Tech Civil Engineering course.Total strength of student for the 4-year programme is approximately 240 students (60 students by 4 batch intake). It should be noted that there may be variations in intake capacity for different courses and such details are better obtained from the respective colleges. The college may also provide lateral entry to 2nd-year B.Tech Civil Engineering for Diploma or holders.

While SIT offers good placement among the companies which recruit B.Tech IT learners, it does not ensure the application of 100% placement. As per to the information available on the website, B.Tech IT placement percentage is nearly 90-95%. Siliguri Institute of Technology or SIT provides scholarships for B.Tech students and these are given on merit basis, the institute does not offer full scholarships to all the students. Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) is one of the moderate MBA college in West Bengal. This one is approved by the AICTE and also is with MAKAUT which was Formerly Known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT). Direct admission to the B.Tech in Computer Science programme at Aliah University is not possible. Aliah University admission is strictly merit basis through the Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT).
