Both the University of Northern British Columbia and Memorial University of Newfoundland are public research universities. Both Columbia University and New York University are well-known and prestigious universities in the USA. Columbia University is a part of the Ivy League, which is considered very prestigious in the U.S. The admission rate at Columbia University is lower than NYU, there is a general perception that Columbia is more prestigious than NYU. The acceptance rate of NYU is 13% meanwhile, Columbia University's acceptance rate is 6%, according to U.S. News & World Report. If take a look at the ranking, then Columbia ranks at 22 which is higher than NYU's ranking i.e. 39. Overall, Columbia University is better than NYU.
