Communication Design

The Fashion Communication programme primarily focuses on four major domains I. e. , Graphic Design, Space Design, Fashion Media and Fashion Thinking, and the related genres of these major areas, using hand and digital skills through knowledge, application and practice based approach. So fashion communication is considered a pillar of the fashion industry. Its study incorporates various areas such as public relations, visual merchandising, fashion journalism, photography, and styling. Communication Design is a component of design that uses visuals that strategically convey a message or express information. Communication Designers take an approach to engage their viewers and communicate the data and knowledge in the message clearly, majorly through print or electronic media. Those who complete a Communication Design course usually work in branding, advertising or web/app designing. So communication students become multi-media communicators and designers
So both the courses are different.

Some of the topics that aspirants should study as part of NID syllabus for that Prelims include Colour Terminology, Design Development, Mood, Theme & Colour Inter-relationship, Design Theory, Elements & Principles Of Design, Theme Development, Visual Logic, Memory Drawing, Exercises on Imagination, etc. Candidates who qualify that Prelims has to next appear in that Mains. The that Mains includes a Studio Test for the B. Des programme. The paper may include questions like Doodling, Material Manipulation, Audio Visual Exercise, How to Evolve Ideas, etc. The candidate needs to prepare for the NID that exam as per the updated syllabus. It is recommended that along with the syllabus, the candidate also consults the exam pattern to prepare for NID that exam.

The NID syllabus for that Prelims will include questions from topics like Drawing fundamentals, Innovation in design, Theme development, Exercises on imagination, Graphics & pictograms, Principles of composition, Design theory, etc. The syllabus for NID that Mains will include topics like Model making, Material manipulation, Audio-visual exercises, Importance of body language, Doodling, Creative thinking and the likes. Candidates may note that the National Institute of Design doesn't release any official syllabus. The important topics for the exam are identified by consulting previous years' question papers. Yes. In case, you are not satisfied with the allocated seat or have a better option available, you are allowed to participate in the other rounds of counselling. In case the candidate wants to participate in the subsequent rounds of counselling, then he or she has to opt for auto upgrade. Note that if the candidate is allocated a higher preference seat in the subsequent round, then seat allocation of the previous round will be cancelled. The allotment of seats will be as per the merit rank of the candidate in NID that 2023. The National Institute of Design will release the detailed instructions for counseling at the time of declaration of NID that 2023 results.

The National Institute of Design will release schedule for NID DAT 2025 counseling on its admission portal soon after DAT Mains results are declared.Eligible candidates seeking admission to the B.Des program has to submit campus preferences.The 1st round of seat allotment for B.Des program will be announed around the last week of May 2025. Note that the seat allotment for the M.Des program will be announced in April 2025.The counseling process will be conducted online and include one or more seat allotment rounds.NID counseling notification will include information like the mode of the counseling, application process, fees, etc. The candidate needs to carefully go through the notification to learn about the process. The NID counseling will be conducted for admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses. For the current session, there ate 425 B. Des seats, and 247 M.Des seats.
