The  Indian Institute of Design (NID) and the Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) are both design courses that can allow admission to BDes courses. Candidates can choose between UCEED and NID as per their suitability.NID is one of India's most esteemed design schools. It is well-known and has a track record of turning forth talented designers. NID has campuses spread around India and provides a Bachelor of Design (BDes) programme. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay administers the UCEED entrance exam to candidates seeking admission to the BDes programme at IITs and select other institutions. Although UCEED is a relatively recent entrance exam for design courses, the IITs are well known for their engineering programmes.

The National Institute of Design (NID) declared the NID DAT 2024 seat allotment of M.Des programme for Round 2 on June 4, 2024. The link to download the seat allotment is given below. Log-in to the portal using your email id and date of birth. Candidates who are allotted seats have to confirm their seats, pay the non-refundable fees, and upload documents by June 10, 2024 (midnight). Earlier, NID DAT 2024 seat allotment (Round I) for the B.Des programme was declared on May 29, 2024. The campus preference submission window was open from May 21 (4 pm) till May 23, 2024 (4 pm).The token seat confirmation fee is INR. 30,000 (INR. 75,000 for overseas candidates) + convenience charges (as applicable).If the payment is not made within the given deadline, the seat allotment will be canceled and the vacant seat will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit. 

NID DAT is one of the toughest entrance exams in the land. Also, given the large number of applicants, it is highely competitive.So, to have a chance of scoring a good score in the exam and be in the contetion for a seat in one of the top NIDs, one needs to ensure their preparation is full proof.Now unless you solve sample papers, there is no way to evaluate your preparedness for the exam. For instance, you may have completed the textual books and are confident about your ability to solve a proble. But what will you do if on exam do you find out that theoritical knowledge can take you only so far.However, if instead you solve enough sample papers you will get battle ready. 

A candidate would ideally need around 6 months or so to prepare the NID DAT 2025 exam. This time frame will allow the candidate to go through each topic in depth and prepare for the exam effectively. However, if the candidate has a strong grip over the fundamentals and basis concepts, it is still possible to prepare for the exam even in 3 months or less. But as the time duration shrinks, one will have to be more judicious with the use of each day and hour and be meticulous. Having a well defined time table in place will help matters. The time table can include things like day-wise topics to read and revise, sample papers to be solved, etc.

BRDS has received a total of 1910 choices at NID since 2005. In 2023, 270 BRDS students are chosen to attend NID. There were 56 final selections for NID M.Design and 214 final selections for NID B.Design. BRDS is the source of all India Ranks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 NID. 94 pupils rank among the top 100. BRDS is pleased to declare that, in comparison to all other coaching institutes in India, it has the largest student selection for NID, NIFT, IIT-UCEED, IIT-CEED, NATA, and CEPT this year. There is only one NID DAT entry exam held each year. DAT Mains and Prelims are the two sub-exams that make up the exam. Based on their DAT Prelim results, candidates are selected for the DAT Mains short list.

The NID DAT 2024 (Prelims) merit list will be categorized based on some factors. This would ensure fair selection for admission to the National Institute of Design. The expected categories are:General: It will include all candidates from the general population who applied without claiming any reservations.General-EWS: This category is specifically for candidates belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) within the general population.OBC-NCL: This category is for candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer).SC: This category is for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste community.ST: This category is for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe community.PwD: This category is for candidates with Persons with Disabilities (PwD) who have a minimum of 40% disability.Overseas: This is a separate category for international students applying for admission to the NID B.Des program.
