You may pursue CS along with your B.Com/B.Com (Hons) graduation. Company Secretary course can very well be done along with your commerce graduation. However, you will have to wait till you complete your HSC (commerce) with a minimum of 50% aggregate. B.Com (Hons) and Company Secretary course can be done simultaneously and in fact, there are thousands of students who opt for the Company Secretary / Chartered Accountant / Cost Accountancy course alongside their graduation.

Hi Neha,
Self-study using an institutes material is sufficient enough to help you clear the foundation programme of CS. Your clarity in concepts of accounting and economics in class 12th is an added advantage and will help you feel at ease. Rest all can be prepared by the institutes material. Further, you can also have a look at the old questions of previous examinations.

Hi Sail,
It has become very lucrative and remunerative and with the implementation of companies act, 2013 the scope has widened for a company secretary as a professional. A company secretary can be in practice, or in employment be appointed as a key managerial person. Company secretary are also called as compliance managers as they are the ones with an overall and all round knowledge of various laws applicable on the industries. So, it is noteworthy that along with the enhancement in scope, work and remuneration wise, responsibility and accountability is also increased. You can either start your own practice or go for job.

I would suggest you opt for ENTC as VIT is far better than Cummins College and also the study culture there is not so good, but in VIT, all the things are good.

See, the cut-off marks may vary year to year largely, but the rank varies very less and the closing rank of this college is nearly 2.5K for VIT main campus that is Vellore.
