It's good as these branches are in demand these days. You will surely get some opportunities in these branches and you can expect an good enough placement if you are a good student in the college.

If you perform well in any of the coding challenges by any of the companies then you will be called for an interview irrespective of the branch. All branch students are eligible take coding challenges. Likewise, if you perform well in the coding challenges then you will get placed in an IT company.

Companies give more preference to CSE candidates but you also need to know as what interests you the most then pursue it.

The average package for CSE branch in 2017-18, BIT Mesra, went up to around 20 lakhs per annum. Students were placed in renowned companies like Adobe, Arcesium, Increff and Directi - (Platform).

In terms of placements, and infrastructure JSS is best. In terms of faculty, JSS is best in terms of infrastructure, only Galgotias University is best. And, in the overall package JSS is best.

The placement for CSE and ECE branches at BIT Mesra campus is 100% (for eligible students). The BIT Patna center also have good placement record in these two branches (more than 70%).
