See, these 2 courses are almost same in terms of everything but the only difference that is in the IT, you will get to know only 2 languages but in the CS you are supposed to be known more than 5 languages plus the placements, the placements of IGDTU is the best among both the options which you have mentioned above.

Hello Abhinav.,
I hope you are doing good. IIIT Jabalpur in itself is a very good college. Especially, CSE branch here is very good. Faculty are experts in their domains and are from top notch universities across the globe. The weather is awesome, you will fall in love with the nature here. College life will be a memory for you here.Placements are very good and infrastructure is also good. Overall, this is a very good option I can say.

GIET is an average college in terms of placement though if you work hard college hardly matters. For internship colleges won't provide much stress in internship like these. They are only trying to get everyone placed in some companies. Though it be service based one like the mass recruiter Infosys, TCS, Tech, Mahindra and all. Even there are some students who fetch a good job from these college but they are all self taught. So college hardly matters except IIT, NIT and IIIT ones if you work hard.

Scope- Both branches are core branch of engineering. So, these can't be differing on the basis of scope. Scope is good in both branches. Package - Mechanical is known as evergreen branch of engineering. When it comes to packages, which never goes out of demand. I don't want to confuse you, but at last it depends on you that if you like to work on computer, and was good in IP subject and understanding how computer works then go for CS. But, if you like to play with tools in gara

Computer Science engineering is always the most preferred branch of engineering than compared to ECE or mechanical, in terms of better placements, decent salary packages, and wider career prospectives.

Hi, according to my point of view NITs are the best government colleges in India.
NIT, Jamshedpur you can choose. It has a great environment. A good to go sized campus, and in the vicinity of the market place. Co-operative people, great security and greenery all around. Experienced professors: In core branches like mechanical and civil we have some really experienced professors. With teaching experience more than probably your age.
Great Hostels: NIT Jamshedpur has one of the best hostel facilities in the country. Two mega hostels, with an accommodation of 1500 students (two buildings, 7 storey). Almost throughout your stay at NIT Jams
