It's a very good question. Firstly, let me advise you that money is not the everything in your life. Of course, one needs it. My advice would be any such profession that will increase opportunities with increasing population. Commerce, personal finance, insurance agent, and hotel & catering.

Engineering does not only make you fit for job but essentially makes you fit to face the world. As young engineer, you may have bright ideas too. Other than IT job, you can have your own start up. Use it as building block to do may be MBA or MS. Or you can plunge into social work also.

I would suggest you to study in India. Education system in gulf nations is the worst and by the way even people from gulf would prefer to study in either west or countries like India.
