WCTM is a private institution, not a government college. It is affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak. While WCTM offers decent facilities and education for B.Tech in Computer Science, it may not be considered the best option when compared to top engineering colleges like IITs, NITs etc.

The UPSC Engineering Services Examination Notification states that - a candidate must have earned an engineering degree from a university established by an act of the Central or State Legislature in India, from another educational institution founded by an act of Parliament, or from a university declared to be deemed a university under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, to be eligible to take the exam. The candidate must, however, choose any one of the four subjects - civil, mechanical, electrical, or electronics - for which they wish to take the exam.
