It is completely fine as long as you are clear and firm with your decision. You may very well pursue cosmetology as a career. Alternately, you could pursue a job related to B.Tech course while you do a certificate or a Diploma alongside, say over the weekend or through a short sabbatical. That way, for a little while you will have both tasks at hand and it might seem a little too much pressure. However it will definitely help to have a smooth and logical transition.

Hi,
You can do a Diploma post 10th. Preferably 12th.
1. You may do a Diploma or certificate courses in cosmetology, hair dressing, makeup, nail art, massage therapy, herbal treatment, beauty culture, mehandi or tattoo art etc. Consider doing internship post the study and then a full time job or your own business too.
2. You could also consider doing image consulting course and take it forward as a career. You have lot of opportunities for trainers in personal grooming across varied domains of people.

Diploma in cosmetology is about 5-6 months course. The fee will be between 1 lakh-2lakhs. I would suggest you go for the advanced course in cosmetology which is one year course where you can learn about skin, scalp, hair, make-up, nails, facials, lips, eyebrows and also skin therapy. After completing this course. Its fee would be around 2.5 lakhs.

Dermatology and cosmetology are two different. When we take cosmetology it's on-demand now as each and every person either men r women they wish to look beautiful attractive no matter what their profession is. After completing pg in cosmetology we will be aware of each and every skin type scalp type hair type and respective treatments. Though there is no formal qualification mandatory to become a cosmetologist, although, many industries will require you to attend a cosmetology school and be at least 16 years of age. Candidates who seek admission in any of the institutions of beautician courses, they have to appear for the entrance exam that is conducted by those institutions. If you want to pursue PGDC, then you need to have MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS degree.
