Candidates have to qualify UGC NET exam to pursue for Ph.D. The UGC NET exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency NTA from December 2018, earlier it was organized by the CBSE. According to the NET exam guidelines, there is no restriction on a number of attempts. But if you want to apply for the UGC NET JRF exam then your age must not exceed 30 years. Till that, you can apply as many time as you want. But if you appear for Assistant Professor then there in no age limit criteria.
