Yes, it is crucial to know that there is a negative marking in the CSIR NET exam. If a student has attempted a wrong question in Part B, 25% dedication will done. 33% will dedicated to Part C of the Earth Sciences Paper. Students should only attempt questions they have full knowledge of. Guesswork should be avoided while writing the CSIR NET exam.

CSIR NET consists of Multiple Choice Questions and it covers various topics. The difficulty level of questions increases from Part A to Part C. The marks allotted for a correct answer vary depending on the part and type. Part A has 20 questions and each right answer carries one mark each. Part B and Part C have subject-specific questions and for every right answer, candidates can get either 2 or 4 marks. Part B and Part C can provide a total of 120 marks for all right answers. The syllabus for CSIR NET is prescribed by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research itself. CSIR is one of the primary scientific research organisations in India. CSIR is the conducting body of CSIR NET. The exam is conducted for five papers - Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering Sciences. The CSIR NET is conducted for various subjects namely Chemical Sciences (Chemical Sciences Group), Earth Sciences (Eearth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences Group), Life Sciences (Life Sciences Group), Mathematical Sciences (Mathematical Sciences Group), Physical Sciences (Physical Sciences Group) and Engineering Sciences (Engineering Sciences Group). The syllabus is not the same for all papers. Each subject has its own distinctive syllabus. Each subject covers relevant topics withing that discipline. To know more subject specific syllabus for each subject, candidates must visit the official website of CSIR NET.

No, it is not compulsory for students to appear for all three parts. The three parts of the CSIR NET exam are Part A:General Aptitude, Part B: Subject-specific paper and Part C: Subject-specific paper. If a candidate is only interested in Lectureship (and not JRF) in this case candidates need not appear for Part C of the exam. For all students aiming for JRF need to appear for all three parts. Part B and Part C are subject specific and students need to choose their respective subjects for the same.

CSIR NET 2023 notification was released on the official website on 1st Nov 2023. There are five papers in CSIR NET; Mathematical Science, Life Science, Chemical Science, Earth Science and Physical Science. The exam is conducted in CBT mode. The application form correction for CSIR NET from December 6 to 8, 2023. CSIR NET intimation slip will be soon released on the official website. The exam is scheduled to be conducted from December 26 to 28, 2023. CSIR NET is a national level by NTA.

The eligibility criteria for CSIR NET are prescribed by CSIR in terms of age limit, educational qualification etc. Candidates aspiring to appear for CSIR NET must meet the eligibility criteria. CSIR JRF age limit is 28 years. The notifications of CSIR NET are released by NTAM.
