There's no special requirement, what you have to do is to check for the institute offering the particular course. Apply for them, get confirmed and then proceed for visa.

Some popular institutes are Academia21, top ranked TAFE like William Angliss Institute, Holmesglen Institute, Holmes Institute and Le Cordon Bleu Melbourne. I would request you to visit the institute websites for fee, admission and duration details. Program duration is usually of 1 year. Obtaining PR is easier if you do a 2 year course, so a better idea is to enroll into another 1 year program after you complete the diploma course. If your job is listed in the SOL and you are well qualified, doing good in your job then you can apply for a PR.
