No prior colour experience is not necessarily required in Indian cuisine and culture or you can say in a cooking profession, especially for a beginner course,   Some colleges and courses are designed with no experience required and also there are many institutions that require no experience for admissions, however, having some basic skills might be good for your own good and can help you to grow faster in your course.
