The unsolved question papers are available at http://dspace.cusat.ac.in/jspui/handle/123456789/8517 or you could get them via an email from the library. As far as I know there are no official solutions for them out there. But there are some books available in the nearby book stores where you could get a solution book for the previous year question papers of B.Tech. You could visit the nearby book stores though I'm skeptical whether you would get such books for all semesters. Hope this helps you.

It was decent last year (2017) i.e. my friend's batch. The core placements were less as compared to placements in IT sector. Off-campus placements happen frequently in and around other Engineering colleges nearby as well.

Hello Vishal,
Cutoff for fire and safety branch goes up to 4500 rank in the final round of admission, but you will get most benefits of your rank when you fill up the NRI admission form rather than general admission form.

I would recommend IEM-Kolkata. IEM is much better than the other universities you have mentioned. For studies as well as for placements, it's much better.
