Yes, the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) is valid for government jobs, but with some conditions. According to a recent Supreme Court ruling, candidates who completed the NIOS D.El.Ed programme before August 10, 2017, are eligible to apply for government jobs and promotions. However, the court also clarified that the 18-month D.El.Ed programme conducted through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode is not equivalent to the 2-year regular diploma. For more detailed information, you can refer to the WBSSC website or the NCTE official announcement.
