Delhi University (DU) Admission Process

To apply for a BSc programme at University of Delhi (DU), to appear CUET (ug) exam & you will join on the basis of CUET cutoff rank & also you can visit the official DU website during the application window and register an account. There is a possibility that the university will charge a nominal amount for this process (considering it is charging the same from UG students taking admission via CUET UG). 

Candidates seeking admission to MCom at the University of Delhi are required to apply via CUET PG exam. Students need to apply online and fill out an online registration form for admission to MBA of DU College. Candidates first need to register for MBA course at the DU college of their choice. The shortlisted candidates will be further called for personal interview round. The university also considers the academic performance of the aspirants in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation. Once candidates qualify all the selection rounds, they need to check the merit list. DU releases a merit list announcing the names of selected candidates. You need to pay the course fee to confirm a seat in the university.

Yes, starting 2023 academic year, the University of Delhi will only consider scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test-PG (CUET-PG) for admissions to post-graduate courses. This is the first time that post-graduate admissions to DU will be based on CUET-PG. The change in the admission process to postgraduate courses was proposed by the 10-member committee. Additionally, separate merit lists will also be prepared for the candidates who will clear the CUET PG 2023 exam. The university, in an official notification, also added that, "Before appearing for CUET-PG, candidates must ensure that they fulfil the course-specific eligibility". For this, candidates must check university's PG bulletin for information on selecting CUET test papers as per the requirements of the specific programmes. But, at first, it is necessary that aspirants opt for DU during CUET form filling and later apply on the CSAS portal to be eligible for admission. The admission process after CUET result declaration is explained below:Step 1: After the declaration of the CUET UG exam, register on the DU CSAS portal in multiple phases. Submit College + Course combination preferences in the order of priority on the CSAS dashboard.Step 2: The University has released the dates for three DU CSAS Seat Allocation Lists which will be out on August 1, August 10 and August 22, 2023, respectively for all categories.The "freeze" option in seat allocation for CSAS (DU) is to be selected by the students to confirm their admission choice to the allocated college and course at DU.If candidates are happy with the assigned college and course, they can freeze the request through their dashboard.Once they select this option, they will not be considered for "upgradation" of choice in further rounds of CSAS.Candidates must only select this option only if they are satisfied with the allocated seat and want to take admission to this course & collegeIf they do not choose to upgrade or freeze your admission, their current status will be maintained.Step 3: Once the candidate "Accept" the provisionally allocated seat, the concerned college will verify the eligibility and documents uploaded by the candidate online. The college has an option to 'Accept' or 'Reject' the admission of the student basis the verification.

At the undergraduate level, the University of Delhi offers BSc (Hons) across over 10 specialisations which offer merit-based admission to the students up until 2021. However, starting 2022, DU admission to all the UG courses are conducted via CUET UG. CUET-UG is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the NTA for admission to all undergraduate courses in various central universities, including the University of Delhi.CUET scores are used for admission to both BSc (Hons) and BSc (General) programmes, weightage of which in the overall admission process varies as per the college and the course under DU. In addition to the CUET scores, DU colleges also consider other factors, such as the candidate's performance in Class 12 or equivalent exams, their extracurricular activities, and their interview performance.
