The BDS is a 5 year (4 years academic education + 1 year mandatory internship) UG degree programme. This course can be pursued through full time and part time courses. The BDS is one of the most sought courses after 12th in medical field. There are many reputed universities in India which are offering the BDS course.

BDS has not a good scope in foreign countries as a specializations is must to open your clinic. Its better for you to first complete your MS so that some more opportunities you can gain. "Aesthetic Dentistry" is the newer advancement in the field of dentistry.

In BDS you will have more chances of income as compared to BPT but you will have to open a clinic for that. In BPT you need not open a clinic of yours but get associated with several hospitals or health centers or even with sports teams. Both career options are good.
