There are good job opportunities and higher studies options after BDS.
Private Sector Jobs after BDS:
Private sector offers a lot of job opportunities to BDS graduates. An entry level candidate can start practice in the dental department of a self financed hospital. After gaining sufficient experience and expertise they can start their own private practice. Those who attained higher studies in dentistry can get in to dental Colleges as lecturers. There is no straight-jacketed approach to earn more money. There are plenty of good jobs & higher study opportunities available after getting the degree in dentistry as a doctor. It is the professional field with good career opportunities. Further, there are a lot of openings abroad too. In India, salary is in the range of 6-8 lacs per annum.
After completing BDS, you may find employment as:
-Consultant
-Professors
-Forensics
-Dental surgeon
-Oral pathologist
-Medical Representative / Sales Representative

The BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) is the only educational and professional program of dental surgery in India.In the medical educational field, it is the second choice of the students after the MBBS course. It has also a very good job opening like that of MBBS. There are plenty of good jobs & higher study opportunities available after getting the degree in dentistry as a doctor. Especially in abroad, you will get more openings. Salary is in the range of 5-8 lacs per annum.
