Candidates who clear the entrance test will be called for an interview. Only students who clear both the entrance test and the interview will be admitted into the program. The department conducts two separate entrance examinations for the two programs. The college accepts CUET - PG exams for admission to MA. The general cut-off is around 90-95 percentile.

The University of Hyderabad's Department of Communication (UofH) has a good number of students placed each year. In 2021, 701 students were placed.
