The Department of Laws at Panjab University in Chandigarh offers several courses, including: Bachelor of Laws (LLB)Master of Laws (LLM)Doctor of Laws (LL.D.)Master of Philosophy in Law (M.Phil (Law)Doctor of Philosophy in LawThe LLB course is three years long and costs INR 40,356. The LLM course is two years long and costs INR 96,374.  To be eligible for the LLB course, you need to take the PU LLB entrance exam. For the LLM course, you need to have a 55% in your graduation and take the PU-CET (PG) exam.

The Department of Law at Panjab University was ranked 27th for Law by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2021. The Department of Law was established in 1959 and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.  Panjab University is one of the top public universities in Chandigarh, India. In 2023, Panjab University received an A+ grade from NAAC, the highest grade the university has ever received. Panjab University is ranked #1001-1200 in the QS World University Rankings 2024.

The Department of Law at Panjab University in Chandigarh is considered one of the best law schools in North India.  The department was established in 1959 and offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The Department of Law at Panjab University in Chandigarh, India has a placement cell, but some say the placements aren't very good. In 2022, 330 undergraduate and 1 LLM student were placed. The median package for LLB and 5-year undergraduate students was INR 2.3 LPA and INR 50,000 per annum, respectively.  The highest and average packages offered at Panjab University UBS Chandigarh in 2023 were INR 58.48 LPA and INR 13.7 LPA, respectively. The placement rate was 91.30%.
