Sketching, writing, creative aptitude, awareness of design industry and design practices etc. Are essential skills for round 1 written exams. Sketching is widely practiced and it makes a compelling case if you sketch meaningfully, than accurately. Writing is an important but underestimated skill. All topics are equally important, everything from visual spatial ability, general knowledge, Science, arts, mathematics and mensuration, mental ability. It is important to go through the previous year's question papers to know the pattern because there is negative marking so one gets familiarised with the type of tricking questions. You have not written about the category you belong to. There are about 468 seats in B.FTech course (Including 35 state domicile seats). So your chances are moderate if you belong to general category.

NIFT conducts the counselling for offering admissions across all the sixteen campuses. Candidates will not have to pay any registration fee for the first round of NIFT counselling 2020. For the registration, students have to enter credentials such as form number, date of birth and password. Candidates will also have to select a counselling campus from where they will be participating in the NIFT counselling process. They will receive a system generated letter, SMS and an email on their registered mobile and email ID after successful registration from the authorities. The eligibility criteria of M.Des courses is depends upon the courses you wish to pursue. However most of M.Des courses of NID and NIFT like Animation and film design, Furniture and interior design, Graphic design, Product Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design etc. Can be done after the 3 years of graduation degree. So you can pursue anyone of them. However B. Des. Is recommendable here if available.

NIFT B. Des selection process comprises a written examination comprising of a Creative Ability Test CAT and General Ability Test (GAT), followed by a Situation Test to be undertaken by shortlisted candidates of the written examination. GAT comprises the following topics as under.
1. Quantitative Ability : 20 Questions
2. Communication Ability : 25 Questions
3. English Comprehension : 25 Questions
4. Analytical Ability : 15 Questions
5. General Knowledge & Current Affairs : 15 Questions
Total= 100 Questions of 100 Marks
